Need Feedback on the Tunze DOC 9010

Ok,

So I have a very tiny sump and I need a skimmer with a small footprint. Someone turned me on to the DOC 9010 for my 120 gal reef.

I have heard some back and forth about the wet skimate and some other issues. Can someof you please give me some feedback on how your 9010 or 9015 series is working?

Tunze 9010 works great for your situation. Do you have better choice other than Tunze 9010? I don't think so for your small sump size. You won't regret your choice.

it performs best when skimming a bit wet, from what I've collected from waht people have told me. That doesn't mean it's overflowing with crystal clear water every day, instead it doesn't pull only super thick stuff, it gives it more of a dark tea look than a sloppy sludge. it helps take out nutrients just as well, maybe even more than others.

Very happy with mine. Agree that it seems at its best when pulling out what I would describe as "tea colored thick water".

Requires little maintanance. As my tank has matured I've been able to open it up (more air) more and more.

I love mine, replaced an ASM G2 with a 9010 on my 75g and it's pulling stuff out the g2 never touched.

I can't hear it unless I turn off my return pump which is a Mag 9.5

Hi, i bought a 9010. But i must say it i makes slurping sounds when it sucks air. Perhaps mine isn´t well adjusted and it actually makes a brumming sound from the pump....as i have red here it seems deadly qiuet, or? I have it installed as a "in tank model".

The reason i´m asking is because i sleep in the same room, and i´m thinking about putting it on a timer becuse of this...sorry if my english looks strange/wrong
