Need gorgonian help, please!

I was away for a while, and a few of my gorgs developed some algae, and tissue recession. I've turned off the lights, and put them in higher flow. But should I trim the bits with algae, or wait and see if it dies off?
One is a verucella, and the other is similar in shape, red with orange polyps...
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Margaret

Hello Margaret
I believe that we wait with the extinguished light for the algae he dies, otherwise it is necessary to cut so that it does not cover the tissue.

surely there will be PO4 in your reef.

Thanks Coltref!
On my verucella algae seems to have pretty much died away, and I've turned the light back on. On the other one - I'm not sure what it's called, but you have it, too - red with orange polyps - its almost completely dead... but the few places where tissue is still alive it looks like the polyps are going to extend. So - I'm not ready to give up yet...
I'm a huge fan of your tank - thanks again for your help!
