Need halide help soon! (won't light)

ok well last week my original single ended 400w ballast died. so I replaced it with the nova II hqi 250 watt lighting system it worked for a good week. Last saturday it didn't come on in the morning, so i unplugged it and plugged it back in about 15 minutes later and it started no problem. The next day, sunday, it didn't start at all. So we got a replacement ballast thinking that it was the problem, but it still won't light! so then we tried a different light bulb but it didn't make a difference. I really need to get it working again soon for the corals! (sps, clams, and softies). Btw, when i plug it in, it makes just a little blip of noise then nothing. The lightbulb doesn't light at all. Can anybody share some insight? I'm willing to try just about anything! thanks

.....did you try plugging into a different outlet?
I would check for ground fault....seems to be shorting somewhere....

Some ballasts don't like german bulbs! I had this happen to me, buy something other than german, ask your LFS if they have a dead (used up) bulb you can try.
