I just took a Tang out of my works tank tonight that is in need of help and fast. It is a hippo tang that has been in a very neglected tank for a while now. Tonight before I took it out of the tank it was swimming face down. its tail has been nipped by the only other tank mate which is a trigger, it has another mark on its side which looks like it could be from the trigger as well, it is also very skinny which I think is from malnutrition.
I did not take test samples tonight but I have previously and they werent good. I have taken 2 samples and the 1st had .25ppm of nitrites and nitrates were off the chart. the 2nd samples I took had the nitrites at 0 and still the nitrates were off the chart. the 2nd sample was taken after the guy did a very large water change.
Ok, so I ask for any and all help at this point. this is the first fish I have tried to rescue so I am stumped.
