Need help deciding on flow

jackson6745

Yeah Yeah
Right now I have 120g BB tank with 2 6100 streams and 2 penductors off of my return. There is a lot of water movement but it is more of a static flow. I don't get great polyp extension that I see from other guys with a more random flow.

These are a couple of scenarios that I have come up with:

1) 1 wavbox + 1 6100 + penductors

2) 2 seaswirls (return pump) + 2 6100's

3) add a third stream behind the rocks + return pump with or without penductors.

4) get silly and replumb everything with an ocean motioms unit :)

5) Any ideas welcome!

I love my closed loop powered by an ampmaster 3000 and my 3 6100's on single controllers . People used to think I was crazy with 114x but now they all are trying to push it higher as well .

WOW thats a ton of flow in a 120....How's your polyp extension. Do your fish have a hard tiime staying up in the water column?

Interesting, I thought that was the reason for running them on a multicontroller. Maybe ask Roger and see what he thinks.

Polyp extention is great . I only have 1 piece where PE sucks but thats because its the only sps which gets hit hard by the rb's.

As for the fish the love the take free rides back and forth and my tang swims right in front of them .

My controllers are running 70-100% every 3 seconds.

I am also going to add my 6200's into the mix just for kicks but they won't stay in . They are just waiting for a larger system in the future but if I do keep them in I will end up dialing them back I imagine.

Can you get your water streems to crash into each other? In my tank that creates really random flow.

I've got 2 6100's in a 90g with a Mag 12 return pump split in two with an Oceans Motions Squirt.
I love the OM.
Mine is a 2 way going into the tank by Lockline, the flow from both pieces of Lockline cross into the path of the Tunzes towards the front glass. I use interval 2 then with the flow from the OM I feel its pretty random. :)

Theres also the Wavysea. Suppose to be a pretty nice alternative to the seaswirls.

So your Tunzes don't give you random flow on the controllers?
I was thinking about adding one for just that reason to the 120 I'm planning. FWIW I use penductors on my CL and have my returns aimed at the them. Some randomness but not a lot. FWIW I've never had problems with polyp extension and people that see my tank comment quite often on my polyp extension.
