Need help deciding on getting a coral beauty

Okay so ive been wanting to buy a coral beauty to add to my tank for awhile now. the only thing holding me back is i have a couple hundred dollars invested in hammer, frogspawn and octospawn corals. Ive been reading coal beauty's like to nip at lps corals. But id greatly benefit from the coral beauty's rock grazing abilities as the tank is full of messy meat eater fish and im constantly cleaning my rock. Has anyone on here had issues with coral beauty's eating lps corals? Thanks for all and any help/advice.

Ya from what I read its like 50/50 if they will eat corals or not. But like usual when you search around on the internet its usually people posting negative or bad things. Just looking for some good things and experiences people had with the coral beauty. My tank has a TON or macro algae that I just rip out with my hand at each water change so it will have plenty of "natural" food to eat besides my prized lps corals haha

Does your coral beauty do a good job keeping your rock looking good? I guess worst case scenario is I have a coral beauty that doesn't eat corals, wont graze on my rocks but will add color to my tank lol

Hard to tell. My tangs, rabbitfish and foxface seem to graze the rocks a lot.

I've got a Coral beauty in my tank with frogspawn and Hammer and other mixed corals and maybe I've been lucky but it's never picked at anything. It sure loves the reef frenzy and mysis that they all get fed twice a day.

I think im going to give one a shot. My LFS has about 10 coral beautys in stock. Hopefully I pick the right one!

I think coral beauty is under-rated for their beauty simply because they are one of the least expensive fish. I would get one if I didn't already have a pair of flame. You should give it a shot! worst case scenario you get an excuse to set up a smaller tank for it!

I love dwarf angels, I've had potters, flames, coral beauties, and bi colors. In all cases none of them touched hammers/frogspawn/duncans or octospawn. Favias, open brains, acans are very hit and miss though. I suspect the spawn type corals might have just a bit too much sting to make it worth it.

Of all the dwarfs the CBs have been the best citizens too, go for it!

I have one and ive had no problems with mine. It's always been one of my favorite fish . They are so active and very beautiful as you know. Good luck!

Think a beauty will pick on a dwarf lion fish? Antenna lion fish to be exact

Because then everything would starve to death due to not defending its food from stuff.
I dunno... lions are pretty good at defending themselves, what with all the poky bits.

Maybe put a couple of coral frags in the QT tank with the new fish to see if the individual you get tends to ignore it? Thst way you have an idea before putting it in your DT to wreck havoc and then need to go through the hassle of catching him.
