my large favia is dying due to a golby that burried part of it in the sand it is receding fast how do i save this and or frag it?

i did move it i sucessfully was able to frag a couple of larg pieces for it that were healthy and diped the colony and frags, hopfully the infection will stop and the coral will surrive

I had a favia get an infection. I stuck the infect area into the sand bed and left the rest above (making sure to sink a bit of the good part of the colony in there). After a couple of days the infect part was obliterated but the rest of the colony was fine. It started growing back over the old skeleton right away.

I've done this twice now with good result.

the infection came from the sand bed due to the golby covering it, i gave a iodine dip and was able to frag 2) 3'' frags from the 8'' coloney
