Need help getting my nitrates up (I know the reverse problem most people have) currently reading undetectable with salifert and po4 reading undetectable with hanna my tank is a simple set up 90gal about 70lbs of rock, Bare-bottom, 8x54 ati PM, skimmer RO nwb 200 , carbon and a ton of flow I run filter socks that I don't change out till there over flowing which takes about 2weeks to clog I have sponges in the middle of my baffle in the hopes that it will produce some nitrates I feed 3 times a day 3 cubes of PE mysis and a chunk of rods food along with 10mls a day of acropower I want to get my nitrates between 1-5
How can I get my nitrates up? Couple of things Iv thought about
Feeding more? I think I feed enough as it is and don't want to risk raising my po4
Turning off my skimmer in the day time? Worried about my ph dropping
Adding bio balls? Iv read they produce nitrates
Dosing sodium nitrate? Thinking this will be the best option since I can control it but have never tried mixing up some solution
Any other ideas? the reason for wanting to bring up my no3 is to see that effects it has on my colors I have ok color at the moment but want to see if I can get them even better iv read nitrates can do the trick
