So i have a mantis. After finding Mr. Caldwell's site full of the mantis species, i can't find the one i have (right now i'm hoping to have one thats not found yet, but probably not :( ). So hes about 2-3 inches and a maroon colour. He has orange tips on his( i think its a he) legs, and he has kind of a teal-ish colour on the raps (its on the kind of elbow) Heres a pic of him sticking himself out on the rock i just bought.

The white balance is so far off it's hard to see anything definitively, but he looks an awful lot like my Neogonodactylus wennerae.

aight i'll try, but he doesn't come out of his rock that often :(. Also i looked up what the n. we..wutever it is on google, and they don't look anything lke the one i have.

check them out on Dr Roy's site, the wenneraes are very color morphic, and come from florida so are very common in the southeast...

I also just noticed the white meral spot on the inside of its raptorial appendage, which is indicative of a N. Wenn...

The "white" meral spot was one of the primary criteria of my original ID, but given the white balance, it was too hard to say if it was really "white".

the raptorial appaendages are often referred to here as the dactyls. The meral spots are on the inner side of each dactyl.

I just saw that my mantis has a tealish colour on the bottom where his pleopods are, his antennal scales, antenna and antennules are an orange colour, pereiopods are orange
