Need help on a budgeting standpoint.

Hm, i have never seen that overflow. May be worth looking into. Thanks! If anyone. Else wants to posts pics of their setup feel free to.

Yeah I'm stoked with them. Like I said no moving parts and create a good wave, add a couple of powerheads in and you get heaps of surface agitation.
One unit can produce 660 gallons per hour so by the time you have rock in there and a sump you're probably looking at 8-10x tank turnover per hour so a very good rate.

Okay, this is kind of a bump/new question.

I have decided to go with a c2c overflow, and the glass shop near me gave me a spankin good deal! Just 17$! They are going to cut all of my baffles for a total of 40$! So happy. Just to make sure you guys do reccomend 1/4 inch glass correct?? well my question is how do I silicone it on, and could I paint it black for appearance purposes??? I don't like the look of the clear glass. I was planning on using krylon.

No, sorry I guess that was confusing. I was just talking about the deal I got for my sump baffles. My sump will be ugly and tucked away :)
I was talking about the c2c overflow, on how to glue it and if it was possible to paint it to look good.

^^ to true!!
I have no idea what a budget is, that's what my wife is for. If I want something, I ask w=if we can afford it.

The knowledge to put the hole of the right size where it is needed...
The knowledge not to drill into tempered glass, and drill where it will not stress the tank? ---Good things.
And them assuming the financial responsibility if they goof? Priceless.

+1 For $40 get them to do it... Although be careful transporting the tank! Might be less stress getting the hole done by others, but ( Unless they're coming to you ) you've got to get it there and back which carries it's own risks.

Weighing up the options it's probably worth getting it drilled by someone with experience. Good luck!

I would agree with everyone above I have drilled many tanks bout would pay someone 40.00 to drill it if i had that option. there its 50.00 per hole last time i checked.

As far as the overflow boxes Check out my Diy boxes.. I would say total cost of 50.00 But you need some basic tools. Maybe get a family member to cut the pieces for your or the place you buy the plastic and use plastic solvent adhesive.

Wow that all looks like a lot of work.. what are the benefits?
