Hey all,
I'm looking for a digital camera between 10-11 megapixels. It will not be specifically for the tank, moreso for traveling photos with an occasional tank shot or two.
So, my question is what cameras are the best with respect to reliability and value for the money? Are there any brands to avoid, if so why? Anyone purchase any compareable cameras recently and have an opinon to voice?

Thanks in advance!

How much are you looking to spend? Do you want to buy-in to the world of DSLR and all the cool expensive toys that come with it or do you want an all-in-one unit?

Also remember that MP's are not everything!!! The market hypes up the idea that the higher the MP's the better the camera. This is not 100% true. You can get stunning shots from a 6mp camera as you can from a 10-12mp camera. Where MP's really start coming into play is with printing photos.

But since you asked for 10mp....here's a few ideas. All can be found at www.bhphotovideo.com

From Nikon, 10mp DSLR's would include D40x, D80, and D200.

From Canon, 10mp DSLR's would include EOS Digital Rebel XTi (aka 400D) and EOS 1D Mark III.

From Olympus, 10mp DSLR's would be the E-Volt 410 and 510.

For "all in one" cameras, look towards the Canon Powershot G7. There are MANY excellent "all in one" cameras under the 10mp point that are worth considering too. The Canon S3 IS and Fuji S9100 come to mind.
