need help setting up RO/DI

So I have had my RO/DI for about a year now but I recently moved out of my parents house and moved to Washington DC. In my apartment in DC, the sinks do not have anywhere for me to screw the hose to get water into my RO/DI system. Does anyone have any suggestions for this?

Also around how much water do you think would evaporate in a 55 gallon tank with no sump open top?

Thanks so much, I would greatly appreciate any help

If you don't want to (or aren't allowed to) cut into the apartment plumbing, you can use one of these http://www.amazon.com/Dual-Thread-Faucet-Adapter-Hose/dp/B000DZKX5Y you unscrew the tip of the faucet where the screen is and screw that on instead. So I leave the adapter attached to my rodi, and when I want to make water I bring it out, unscrew the tip of the faucet and screw the rodi on.

There are a lot of faucet sizes and it's hard to tell what you have, so the easiest thing is just unscrew your tip and bring that down to the hardware store to find a match.

thanks a lot for all the replies, I will try to take the screen off tonight when I get home. I tried this morning but it was pretty hard. I do not want to cut into any of the apartment plumbing, so hopefully this will work. Will this work on every faucet?

You can fill a little bag like ziplock type with vinegar and use a rubber band to hold it over the end of the faucet. If you let it soak overnight that will dissolve the minerals or whatev that makes it sticky

I left the vinegar thing on for like 1 hour and I could not screw it off. you sure I can use that on this faucet??

I'm pretty sure you can, there's got to be a way to get the screen out to clean it. I'd let the vin work over night, and try an adjustable wrench. You can use rubbery shelf liner, or wrap tape around it to grip it without scratching the chrome.

I guess it could be some weird faucet, but it looks like a normal female threaded one to me. There's some smart plumbers in the diy subforum, might get some help there too. Or if you can find the make of the faucet try googling "replace ____ faucet screen"

well i tried to get it off this morning before work with pliers and a wrench, moved a little bit but could not get it all the way off.

here is the underneath of my bathroom sink

is there any other way I can do this? I can not get to the washing machine hookup as it is all the way behind it and there is no where to move the washer and drier. I would greatly appreciate any help

You could get something like this from Bulk Reef Supply:

It just screws into the cold water line under the sink and you use the ball valve to shut the water off to the RO/DI when your not using it. This is what I used for years (in an apartment) without any issues.

Echoing what slowwrx said. That is how I am going to hook up to my sink for my RO/DI. Google John Guest Speedfit angle stop adapter. Has the valve built in and you can find it on Amazon.

Those will work but your hose connection looks quite large. Almost 1/2"? Just by looking at it via the picture. I would try to measure it and see. I'm pretty sure those connections only come in 1/4" and 3/8" the most common size for water supply lines today. If you have a 1/2" you are going to have to be creative and do some adapter coupler work to also those pieces to fit in
