I have it on the back and the pump is running.

I see the air screw on top of the intake pipe.

my question is how do I adjust the skimmer to get some skimmate.

I have never even seen one of these nor know how to use it.

please will someone walk me through this, thanks

use the elastic band to adjust how high u want the cup. The higher it is, the drier the foam.

Well you have to adjust the white screw (quarter or dime works) until you get a small amount of water arching out and back down into the skimmer.

From there its all about the skimmer cup and the rubber o-ring.

Adjust it up for less water and down for more.

FYI-Mine skims wet, [violation]

This is a family friendly board, that comment was not family friendly. Please keep that in mind from here out.

2 things
1. that was awsome, lol
2. in relation to the white screw, the more I open it the higher the water level will be on the inside of the skimmer? then I just make the water level to just about to where it drops in the skimmer, then play with the rubber ring?

does this sound correct?

What I did with mine was take out the white screw and screw it back in about 1-2 turns, that should prevent water from coming out. Then I adjusted the o-ring so that the bottom of the reaction chamber is about 1/4" above the water. Then tilt it slightly on the exit side so more bubbles reach the reaction chamber.

Do you find you get more skimmate this way? Does it Skim wet in comparison to others? Perhaps a tip from the 12 year master?

Actually I get what I would call "good quality foam"...lemme find a picture...

The reason the bubbles are on one side is because there's actually so much air coming out of the skimmer that it pushes the foam that way. Many times I will have foam coming out of the hole in the cap, even though the cup is barely 1/2 full.
I have to empty the cup out once every 4-5 days, but I think that's about right for a 20g tank. The quality is definitely what I think skimmers should produce though, something I couldn't acheive w/ a BakPak or Turboflotor ;)
