I have a cpr 100 and a mag 12 for return.

I have been looking for flex tubing but no one has any, not even home depot.

first question: where to buy flex tube to attach to my overflow to the sump?

second question: relates to my return line. The outflow for the mag appears to be about 1 inch. if I put a 1 1/2 inch tubing or PVC back to the tank, would I get more flow or would it fail bc of gravity?
or how large should my return pipe/tubing be?

or if you have any better ideas, please tell me

thanks, mike

are you talking about the white flex tubing (called spaflex)?
they do have it at every home depot i've been to. just ask.

as for the mag 12 it's a 3/4" outlet. i would just stick w/ 3/4" piping. also, where is your return located? is the tank drilled or are you going to have a pipe just come over the top and into the tank? Have you seen 1.5" tubing....it's a lot bigger than it sounds.

I'd stick with the same size pipe as the output size of the pump. No reason to go bigger as the pump can only pump so much. It may actuall add head pressure to the pump.

Yeah, I think you're looking for Spaflex and they do have it at Home Depot, but it's usually up high where you'd have to know it was there to see it. Just ask someone in the plumbing department and hopefully they know something. I agree to stick with the 3/4" return all the way to the tank.

SpaFlex DOES NOT bend very well. I would hard pipe with thin wall PVC or go with 1/2 and 1/2 hard-pipe and vinyl tubing. If you check it out your see what I mean by little or no flex. Great for LONG-runs.
PVC would be my first choice.

Use 45 hard pvc angles if the spa flex isn't flexible enough. Also, if you heat it up a bit with a heat gun you can change the bends in it and it becomes a very adjustable piece.

Also,

Most HDs in socal are not carrying any spa flex less than 1" anymore. Black Coral carries it though.

I don't like the spa flex. I would prefer to use just vinyl tubing...it's more versatile. You can also use flexible pvc, but then you have to glue stuff. You just have to change the fittings with vinyl.

Spa flex is not going to work bc it is not flexible enough. I found what I need at vivid aquariums, just a very flexible drain pipe.

thanks, mike
