need help with adopted Mandarin( had no choice!)

Picking up two types of copepods from the local store. Could overpopulation of pods in the main tank cause any issues?

no, because if they don't have the right conditions they won't overpopulate. Also, the mandy will eat several thousand pods per day. Some say between 6,000 and 8.000. That's PER DAY :D

What type of pods did you get? Most stores sell tigger pods which is the little bottle of tiny red pods. I find those almost completely useless.

Algae barn sells bags of tisbe and tigri pods which are much more likely to propagate well in the tank from my experience. The pricing is pretty reasonable and you get a solid starting supply: https://www.algaebarn.com/shop/

I'd order a bag of those while you work on getting the mandy to eat frozen/flake/pellet food.

You were absolutely correct - she was given tigger pods. Will order from algae barn immediately.

that is a skinny, skinny mandy.

i would see about offering supplemental feeding at once. whatever you can get. live white worms, live black worms, freshly hatched baby brine shrimp, frozen foods such as roe, are all good things to try.

+1000. Definitely supplement foods since she's so skinny. Baby brine shrimp in some type of feeder would work, like half a petri dish filled with brine shrimp with pantyhose stretched across the opening, sunk to the bottom of the tank. The brine shrimp will slowly escape and the mandarin can eat them throughout the day.
