Need help with Duncan Coral

There seems to be something picking at the green coating on my duncans's outer tubes. I think it's hermit crabs is this going to cause a problem for the duncans?

that looks more like a sun coral, or maybe a dendro, but not a duncan to me. does it ever open? do you have any pictures of it open?

No other pictures they started closing on me a few days ago. LFS sold as Aussie Duncans. This is what they look like opened up. Sorry my camera is junk.

looks like a duncan to me. mine has a greenish tint to the stalk as well. that green coating is basically their flesh, so i would think it would cause a problem.

Now I’m wondering if it was my STUPID Bi-color blenny though I haven't seen him but he has been poopin out these long stringy things excessively the past several days. I'm just frustrated pay good money on corals and this happens! If whatever damaged the stems will they rejuvenate if left alone?

Mine gets picked at by my fish and inverts mostly when i feed it. but it seems to thrive.

Mine prefer very low light and they're growing well with a bit of feeding. Maybe u can try to give it a bit of shadow.

After moving them a month ago to low light they came out and have been out ever since. So how long does it take for them to start multiplying what do I look for?

Mine love high light and high flow I also feed them almost every day. They seem to grow in spurts. Look under the biggest heads they will start budding from around the base of the head. I personally think there are 2 different types one that branches and ones that clusters. Slightly different colors between them I have both the clustering one produces heads faster but the branching one produces bigger heads with longer tentacles.

the base skin will regrow, when they adjust themself.
i feed my duncan twice a week. they budding new baby every 2-3 week per head.
i start with 5 head now 12.. mine like med flow.

Do you guys keep your duncans under high light or low light? I have leds and keep my duncan on the sand bed and it hasn't grown any since I got it a few months back. I also feed it one or twice a week.

My bicolor blenny did the same thing for the first few days after I added my Duncan frag. He has since lost interest.

I had a hermit that did that the first few days
he has now been relocated to the sump
green has grown back
mine seems to like more light for some reason as it opened up more after i moved it a little higher
could just be no more annoyance from that hermit though

Can someone help me with my duncan? I've had this guy for a few months and maybe about two weeks ago it started not fully opening during the day. Here a are the pictures of it at night and then during the day.

Yeah its a branching Duncan. But are you sure its your hermit's?
