Need help with finger leather .. odd holes.

Hi,
I've recently moved my finger leather from my nano into my 90 gallon. It's been doing well in the nano, but in the 90 it seemed to get way to much flow. Eventually I found a spot for it with what seemed like a comfortable flow rate. It's polyps are all out, the fingers look normal and not stressed, but there are some holes on the stalk now. I've attached a pic so you can see what I'm talking about.

I've search around and can't seem to find out what has happened or how to fix this. The difference from the nano to this tank is that this one is using carbon dosing for nutrient export, and has more light. The flow shouldn't matter now that it's in a calm space, but it was getting beat by flow for a few days..there's also a yellow tang in this tank...any ideas?

Are the 'holes' black? If so, could be bacterial. If reddish, not entirely uncommon. I wouldn't frag until more of the stalk starts disintegrating and turning black. What is the possibility that you have a fish or some other critter munching on it? That could be another difference from tank to tank.
