Hi there, I have a mixed reef and am getting into SPS corals. My water chem has been perfect, Ca 450, alk 8.6, mg 1350, no3 0>.5 I run sea chem pure elite and my temp is 79/80. However today I tested my water and my calcium came back really high with Salifert test and then really low 320 with Red Sea coral pro test. So I brought water to local fish store and he tested with API and got 400. My Mg was also really low at 1040 from local guy using API. I've heard bad things about API but not sure. However why did my water go from being perfect to a little off. Next how do I correct it. Do I just simply raise Ca and Mg separately? Do I need to add one supplement before I add the other? Would love any advice. I use the brightwell products of cal, alk (powder), and mg.
