Hello all,

I have to wait to post pictures because Photobucket is having maintenance right now, but I have a very small hitchhiker, on one of rocks. It's shell is about 1/4-1/2 inch long, 1/8 wide, and it is attached to the rock. I can see it's "Mouth" sticking out and it is yellow. Kinda looks like a Nudi hiding in a shell. All I know is that it keeps spewing a fine film like Spider Webs. I clean the webbing and the next day there is a new web. When I shine a flashlight on it, it quickly hides in it's shell structure.

I'll post pics when photobucket comes back up, but does anyone have any ideas?

As always, thank you for your time and knowledge,

Danny

Sounds like a vermetid snail. The web is a mucus net they use to filter feed. Generally they're harmless, but sometimes corals can get irritated by the nets. Personally I smush them since I find them unattractive and I constantly stab myself on their tubes.

Here's a picture of it.

I think you are right Greenbean. I fed the tank some cyclo and after the webbing caught some, the snail started to retract the webbing back for feeding I guess.

Thanks again,

Danny
