I have a 55 gallon with a 30" coralife dual t5 and a aquatic life edge led 24". Now im sure this probably isn't Enough? But I have about 4 heads of Xenia tree that a buddy have gave me that seem to be doing fine. And I also have one frogspawn a very small head that doesn't seem to be doing so great. Hes just not bubbly like he was when I got him he just doesn't open up as much should I move him closer to the light?

What are your parameters? The edge is a freshwater light. If you got a quad t5 it would be plenty of light for that tank.

You could get another dual t5 fixture and you will be good.

If the XENIA is doing well but frogspawn not.. it may not be a lighting issue

What are you Nitrate and phosphate levels.

Calcium Alk Magnesium should be in check and stable as well.....

If the above are fluctuating or out of range could be the issue...

Question.. Are you checking the above???

OHH I Can not GROW XENIA in my Low Nutrient TANK. But it will Grown in my Fuge. strange..

Another 30" coralife would that be okay? And my parameters are
Salinity- 1.022
Ammonia-0
Nitrite-0
Nitrate-15ppm
Calcium-450
Ph-8.1
Phosphates-0

My parameters are I just checked and they now read
Ph-7.9 I added some seachem marine buffer just now to help
Ammonia-0ppm
Nitrite-0ppm
Nitrates-10ppm
Phosphate-.25ppm
Calcium-400
Kh-12drops 200ppm

Stop useing the pH buffer, thats just raising your alk. It only raises the pH temporaly. Phosphate is very high, start running some gfo to get it down to .03 or lower

Will I harm anyone by having that low of a ph?
Which gfo do you recommend?
Chemi pure elite good?

Also my nitrates were high around 40 did a 50% water change over a week spand. it lowered them to 15ppm I tuned in the small skimmer I had and it's now lowered them to 10ppm. My question is should I being doing 10gallon water changes a week or is that too much?
55gallon

No. Many people have successful reefs with pHs in the high 7s.

Worry about your alkalinity and keep it where it needs to be. Your critters can all adapt to a consistently low pH.

The biggest culprit that keeps your pH on the "low" side, (as compared with natural sea water) is something that you likely cannot do anything about. Most of the time it is the co2 level in the home.

You can agitate the surface of the water better and it may out gas the co2 that's trapped within the tank, but it will only go as low as the level within the home. So unless you can run a line outside, you will never get the pH up.

But again, it doesn't matter. As long as the pH is consistently abnormal, the animals will adapt. (Within reason of course.) They can't do that with an alk that's too low or too high.
