I have about 5 different types of mushrooms in my tank and they just wont multiply. The mushrooms dont shrivel up and stay fully opened all the time. I have a 125q with 480watts of T5 lights on it and I have tried placing it everywhere and have not seen any growth. I dose the tank with trace elements, iodine, strotinum, and Phytoplankton and still nothing. Any sugestions

6 months is long to see nothing happen. Everything else in the tank is splitting and growing like crazy, except for the mushrooms. Do all mushrooms split??? I thought some droppped babies? I could be wrong. It is early here, LOL! My brain is still sleeping.
I haven't tried splitting any yet. Sort of grosses me out.

I hope someone can give you a clue as to why yours aren't splitting. I will tag along for answers.

I put them in the shade under a ledge last night and they imediately opened open so I think I might take out 2 of the T5's on the tank to only run 4 x 80watt bulbs over a 125q 6' tank.

I have 6 54 watt T5's on my 55 gallon and have alot of shrooms that grow and split.
It's all in the placement. Some like alot of light and some not.
My ric Fl and green yumas don't mind being towards the top but tongas and blues/purples/reds like lower light.
It also depends on what the lighting was where you got them from.
With T5's I usually start new corals on the bottom and move up after they get used to the light.
