Hey guys I need some help with my Hatain pink tip anemone. I bought him from my lfs almost a week ago ( got him on thursday) and I have had some problems. When I got him home I acclumated him for a while and when i released him into the tank he just kinda was blown across the floor of the tank( not much flow there either) and stayed in a corner. Well the next day i desided to move him thinking he was not getting enough light ( running t-5 ho) and i put him at the top towards the light. The next day looked alot better and was out but not eating, the day after that the same. Today i woke up to find that he moved to the lowest darkest place in my tank and is not looking good at all. I am leaving him there for a little bit to see if he moves again and finds his spot but I dont know what to do. My tank is a well established thank ( going on 3 years now) and should be more than enough to support him. I am going to do a water change and test tommarow and move him again if hes not dead or moved him self. What should i do and is any of this normal thanks for any advice.

Try not to move it, that will only stress it more. Let it find its spot. Did you acclimate it to your lights?

well i floated the bag for about an hour as i set up my aclamation stuff the diped it for another couple hours. the lfs did have it under a cheap t12 regular floresant bulb ( said ther halides went out). how do you aclimate them to light? this is my first one im still a little new.

You get a few layers of window screen and put it over your tank and you take off a layer every 5 to 7 days.

This is how I have acclimated my new anemones to high lights..

I use 3 layers of window screening b/t the lights and the tanks (( supported by egg crate )) and remove one layer every 5-7 days.

In this picture you can see the egg crate and the window screening -- the anemone was on the right side of the tank, so that is why I only did that part of the tank.
