Hi. I am in the developement stages of a 120g (48x24x24) and have been contimplating the different options for overflows.
I really like the concept behind the calfo design, (large surface skim and very minimal realestate loss) but do not want tubes in the back of glass. (I just cannot afford the extra 4-5 inches of in home space that I will loose bringing my tank forward)
I am not really a fan of the manufactures double middle overflow design as it pertrudes quite a bit out and you loose realestate, and eventhough you loose alot less space with corner over flows I dont like the way they look from the sides (you see the plumbing)
I was thinking of a combination between the calfo and the center overflow.
Meaning, I would do a large skim area (about 36" in length) and then T in the middle or do a very thin but long overflow box.
What do you guys think? And if anyone has done this or similar, I would really love to hear your thought and ideas and even see some pics.
