Need help with pacific blue-tail gone

Hello. I have had my pacific blue tank now for about 8 months. He is probably only a little over a couple inches long. He gets along great with his fellow fish mates ( large yellow tang, 3 false perc's, 6 line wrass, yellow clown goby, bi color phesudo) No fish has ever shown aggression towards him or him to them. yesterday I noticed that his tail was coming apart. The only thing I could think of is that he was bitten. Today after I came home from work the tail was gone and there is visual signs of bone coming thru. He does not show any signs of distress and is still swimming along with the other fish. Should I remove him and try to isolate him and also is there any kind of disease that could have caused this. Im just kind of stumped because there were no signs of feuding going on towards this fish. Also if the tail is in that bad of shape will it grow back? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

I am not an expert on fish diseases, but it sure sounds like it has something. If you have a QT tank I would remove it as soon as you can. Make sure that your water is spot on --- if they parameters are off it won't help things one bit.

Even if it isn't a disease and something is attacking it (( hidden crab perhaps )) don't want any infections.

Assuming he doesn't die of infection, his tail will most likely grow back.

+1 on getting him into QT if you can. Good luck, hate to see a nice fish go.

Just curious if this has happend to anyone to this extent. Most curious if it will grow back or not.
