Need help with Ricordia placement!!!

Well I just got a new Ric. I now have a bright orange ric and a nice blue ric. I was told that the blue one I got was a yuma and the orange was a florida. Is there much difference between a yuma and a florida? If so what is it? Do they both like the same light and what light is usually prefered by these rics? I have 250 watt MH over 20" inches of water.

I have seen rics mixed through reefs before but have also heard they will kill anything they touch with their powerfull sting. My wish is to keep mostly montis with the odd acro and then instead of filling in the gaps with zoos I want to fill it all in with different rics. Is this possible?

Any and all help will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

usually if anything stings a Monti it will slowly die. IMO, you are takin a big chance having rics and zoa close to them since they both will grow and spread out fairly fast if you keep your parms in good to great range.

What kind was it getting at the FS? If it was there for any period of time that is. I always start low and slowly buid to final placement over a period of a few weeks to a month. Of course depending on the species. I love the blues that are on the new DF&S catalog.

So perhaps I would be best having the rics on their own little islands away from the other corals?

Could I get a little more info if anyone has it to offer please.

check in the corallimorphs forum (dedicated to mushrooms and ricordias) you'll find lots of folks who can help!

I also have 250 halides over my tank plus some t5 ho's, I keep my rics on the bottom, both orange and blue, and theyre happy, i dont think they like alot of light

I have found that the Florida Rics like a lot more light and I can place them quite high in a well lit tank. Yuma's are a bit more sensitive (to everything) and you should shelter it more from the light. They are beautiful but fragile. Wild ones expecially but prone to melt overnight.
