Need help with some of my zoas looking a bit sad

I have several types of zoanthids in my 120 gal and have always really liked zoanthids. The tank was started on the first of this year and the zoas went in not long after that, responded great to the new tank and lighting with bright colors and fully opening. Within the past couple of months, I've been ramping up the flow, pH, alk, and Ca in this tank as I started acquiring SPS frags. Most of my zoas have taken it in stride, but one large group is obviously have problems. The bright color is not there and the skirt barely extends at all when before it was very long. They spend a fair amount of time closed too. Could these zoas just be more sensitive to the increased flow and above chemistry changes than my other zoas?

This is how they used to look...don't have a current pic:

whats your PH at? I have always found my zoos like a steady PH of 8.0 best. when it gets too high, they get ****y too.

yes, my tank was more near that earlier in the year. Now it typically ranges from around 8.15 - 8.25. Alk used to run 5 - 6 dKH, but now is 9 - 10 dKH. Started dripping kalk a couple months ago.

The PH is fine. That is what I keep mine at. I also keep the my ALK at 9-10dkh. The zoo morph that you have in the picture usually will dull out in an aquarium over time-at least that is my experience with that morph.
Was this a wild colony that you got from Chad? That could be the reason they are not as vivid-just a hunch. As far as them not opening all the way it could be the flow but you had two uber big seios in there before-didnt you? Have you FW dipped them to see if something is eating them? Good luck!

Got them from someone local last fall. Have never had any problems with them or any of my other zoas so never really got concerned about anything eating on them. I haven't lost any that I can tell. Yeah, I have the two Seio 1500's in there that were tuned back before, but since I've got them on magnetic mounts and can position them better now, I've been able to open them up full flow.

I would try placing them by those yumas, you dont have much flow there I am assuming, and see how they do. I would do a FW dip just to be sure, it wont hurt. Good luck!
