ok so let me say before i start i have searched through many posts and been on google 24/7 for the past week pertaining to my issue and have found no specific answer. if anyone has any input or info on past expieriences they have had it would help me a great deal ! thanks in advance for any advice.
about a week ago i noticed cloudy spots on my anthias and he was doing some weird mouth extending thing but was breathing normal..eating a little less. he definitaly did not have white spots so i never did find out what was wrong with him. his last night he was having trouble breathing and i was treating the main tank with some reef safe ich treatment but it seemed to have made him worse (and bothered a few coral and killed fire shrimp). he went from fine to dying in abot 24 hours. he died the next morning. everyone kept telling my if it was ich my tang would have def. shown signs before any other fish and he is still fine. not seeing any spots on any other fish currently except bullet goby and madarin (could be sand)?
display tank- 92g corner reef tank- 30 gallon refugium
1 yellow tang
1 monster bullet goby (6")
2 black clowns
2 orange clowns
5 green chromis
1 blue mandarin
lost a male pink square anthias a few days ago
seashorse tank- 29g biocube
male kudas seahorse
purple reef lobster
45g Hospital tank i just set up today
50/50 new water and display tank water
BB nothing in it hob filter with no cartridges (just to move water right?)
heater 50/50 lighting
JUST TREATED WITH COPPERSAFE CURRENTLY READING APX. 1.5PPM
SALINITY 1.023
And here goes my million questions:
1.if all fish seem to be doing fine should i still treat them with copper just in case?
2. because i may have had an ich breakout does this mean it will always be there until the tank is fish free for at least 8 weeks?
3. what do i do with mandarin? he will have no food and is he copper sensitive?
4. if the mandarin doesnt have ich can i leave him in the main tank?
5. will mandarin and purple reef lobster be ok together?
6. by moving mandarin into biocube will i be spreading it for the seahorse to possibly get?
7.what are the levels of copper supposed to be at? nothing on copper test kit or on the bottle pertaing to range.
8.how will my hospital tank stay clean with no filter? coppersafe says no water changes neccesary for a month?
9.can i put mandarin in my refugium or do the parasites go through filter?
10.should i be treating seahorse tank anyways since i move stuff from tank to tank?
