I've had this algae for years and its spread to almost all my rocks. In the beginning I thought it was cool and i kept it, now its taking over! So here are some shots, after I coudlnt control it i pretty much gave up on this tank. As you can see the Aiptasia is all over the place and I've stopped doing water changes almost a year ago. Ever since I moved my tank when I moved from my old house (4 years ago), everything slowly started going downhill. I still dosed my tank, and did my normal water changes. But ever since the algae got out of control I gave up. I tried everything, at first I thought it was my top off water so I changed my RO filters, I changed my MH bulbs every 9 to 10 months, and I did my water changes and I even did large water changes but I can't seem to control this algae. As you can see, my RBA is doing fine and has been growing ever since I've had it, my plate coral is doing fine, my devil hands are fine, but my zoo's started do die, and my torch corals started to die, my candy coral started to die. I was able to rip some off, but this is very hard to rip off the rock. I took some off and took a close up picture of it. I dont know if i should start over and get rid of the rock and start fresh and pull off my surviving corals.

As you can see, everything circled in red is where this algae is taking over.

Try a sea hare. Hard to tell what kind of algae it is on my phone, but it looks like hair or bryopsis and sea hares seem to eat both from the ones l have observed in different tanks. Hope this helps. Phosphate remover might also help. How does your water test?
