need help with tunze skimmers

Ok, I am getting ready to order my new 180 oceanic tank. After all the replies to the thread I put up in the reef discussion forum , I have been convinced not to drill the tank for a closed loop and instead order a set of 6100 streams and contoller.

This is going to be a sps/lps/softies tank..mainly lps and sps.

Since I'm gonna use the streams , that brought me back to the tunze skimmers.
I have always like the design of the skimmers , But I have a few design questions to ask.

I will be using a sump under the tank.What skimmer would be the best to use in your opinion ?
I have heard that the tunze skimmers have to have a constant water level . So how would I go about setting it up to maintain that. Placement , sump design maybe ? I will be used an auto topoff system from my r/o to the sump.

Any Ideas would help alot. I have heard these skimmers are quiet and since this tank will be in my livingroom quiet is a definate plus. I was looking at an aerofoamer , but the noise would probably run me out of the room..lol

I will probably want to run ozone on an intermitant basis..so is the tunze ok with ozone ?

I would recommend the 230/3 Skimmer. An auto top off system is generally what is recommended to maintain the water level. I am not sure which system you will be using, I can recommend either the Osmolator 3155 or the Litermeter III. Both systems can accurately maintain water level to within a millimeter, something floats cannot do. Just remember with the set up you describe means not only a flood but the loss of all livestock should the system fail. It is wisest to never connect an unlimited freshwater source directly to the aquarium. Ozone can be used with Tunze skimmers but Ozone is best used with a seperate reactor after the skimmer. Ozone destroys skimmable compounds and the breakdown products remain in the aquarium. In addition even Ozone safe materials become brittle over time with Ozone exposure. Tunze skimmers have ozone input ports but these are meant to handle 3-5mg/hr input for use only to detoxify ammonia and nitrite in emergencies or to remove color on a short term basis.
