Need ID Help, Please.

Picked up a new coral last night from the lfs. He didn't know what it was, and neither do I. I'm slowly converting a tank over to NPC and figured this one would fit in nicely. I can find similar stuff, but nothing that looks exactly like it. It doesn't seem to be influenced by light, but my base line isn't good on that. I got it in the tank last night at 3 am, they haven't really changed since the lights came on. The polyps have extended more during the day but that is probably just from the animal acclimating to it's new space. My photography isn't very good, if needed I can get more pics. I was thinking that too, but I don't think the polyps are quite right. The one I have has what looks to be much larger polyps than dendronephthya. They are similar to NEOSPONGODES, but the rest of the coral is not right to be that. I have a chili in the same tank. ATM I'm treating it as dendronephtya.

To me it looks more like a type of Nephthyigorgia. Polyps look big enough to feed red cyclops to. If you get a chance take a few more pics in a day or so.

Your on the right track Aquabacs, thank you. When I search it the first pics that come up are very similar. I'll leave it for a couple more days to settle in and get some new pics. The tank is already fed 3 kinds of live phyto, reef-roids, and cyclops, so it should do alright. Within the next few days live rotifers will also be fed to that tank.

Try to spot feed it with your live phyto, reef-roids, and cyclops.

Thanks for that Western Reefer. Along with the morning phyto it was spot fed cyclops, mixed with a bit of selcon and reef-roids. The feeding response was good.
