Need ID on a crazy critter

the other tang

I had a filter feeder of some sort on my glass Sat night. I have several of these on my lr and in the sb, but never on the glass. It is a long yellow tenticle with a tube body. It crawled up the glass approx.18" then crawled back down pretty fast. Is this a spaghetti worm? I too some pics but nothing worth posting, i can describe it better.

Good call Charles, cirralutid is it. Is the fact that they are there telling me to vaccum the tank, that i feed too much, or just a scavenger looking for a meal. They are not everywhere, a few here and there, i'd guess 20 in the tank total. I am not worried bout them just trying to figure out what their presence means.

I would take them as a sign that your system is healthy, and consider them to be a good member of any clean up crew. If you feel there are too many at any time in the future, collect them and pass them on to fellow reefers.

Will do, i have plenty and will post a thread offering a few to any takers. The ones in the sand are easy pickins. These types of creatures amaze my even more that the stuff we buy at the lfs's i love the creatures that make you wonder what in the hell they are, this guy certainly accomplished that.

Nice webpage, Charles. Lots of info, Thanks for sharing. You're so lucky to be able to go afragg'n whenever you want. :)

What an awesome site Charles. I'm not one to just add to my favorites list but WOW!!.

I was looking for what appears to be red feather dusters and didn't see them on the site but only spent about 20 min going thru it, but THANKS!!!
