I noticed this tonight on some new LR that I purchased a few days ago. It looks like Aiptasia to me, but I may be wrong. Please help me ID this...

Do you think I could sucessfully suction it out since it is soo small? Also, my LFS, Inland Aquatics is closed tomorrow and I have to work 36hrs straight tuesday and wednesday, so would it be okay to wait until thursday? I don't have any corals, just a false perc and a royal gramma right now.

I agree with all above - it definitely looks like an aiptasia. There are several methods of removal (kalk paste, joe's juice, peppermint shrimp, copperband butterflies, etc) but I would get it out of there soon. They have a tendency to multiply. HTH

If that piece of rock is loose, just take it over to the sink and with a razorbleade or xacto, scrape it off at its base. That one isn't attached in a hole or anything so that one would be easy to manually remove.
