From your fuzzy & too small pic it looks like a skirted limpet, Lucapina. If you can photograph the animal in a dish you'll get a better image.

and where are you getting the first ID you said. I googled it but it didnt come up with many pics.. Any good sources you use to ID things? I have the books marine fishes and inverts thats where i guessed the first time but as you see; it was a guess thx for the info.:smokin:

Does he act interested in your soft corals? Leslie and/or the LACM guys will probably be able to ID it for you, I could only give you a guess.

well from the google search of the name you give it does seem to look like he is one. So my question is would he be safe in my newly started reef with only small frags for now? or should i give him to a buddy who has fish only tank? is there any other dangers to this little guy? again thx for the info

I'll go with Don - Tritonopsis elegans is definitely a possibility. there's an extensive list of posts concerning the presence of this nudi in reef tanks at http://www.seaslugforum.net/factsheet.cfm?base=triteleg

It's a specialized feeder on large soft corals like Lobophyton, Sarcophyton, & Cladiella. Without a suitable food source it will starve.

thx for the Id. thats exactly what it looks like. Now I have to figure out what to do with it. What aquarium would take it? if he wouldnt kill an entire reef id keep him lol. I could let him eat a piece or two but if he goes through entire pieces id think id die lol..
