i believe this is a Vermatid gastropod can anyone confirm this for me? It came on my live rock and I think I may have allot more hidden in my rock work if they are the cause of the second image. Sorry if the pics are not so clear, I am still trying to figure out my camera.

I am finding these things in pic #2 all over my tank since I put the live rock in, every morning there seems to be more and more of them, they don't move or anything so I am thinking that this might be the waste product of the tube snails? Has anyone else seen this or can confirm this for me?

also the tube in pic 1, i believe it is a tube snail since I haven't seen it come out of the tube and open up or anything it seems to just stay right at the edge of the opening, and I have observed it fishing with a string, not sure if feather dusters do that as well.

number one looks like a tube snail (Vermatid gastropod) but it may be dead already! I would put a bit of superglue over it just to be save as they can reproduce pretty quickly!

Number two..not so sure!

no. 1 is a tube worm, or vermetid snail. impossible to tell from the pic.

no. 2 is peanut worm poo, seriously good thing to have

so i should try and kill off the tube snails? I have found 2 so far.

and the waste from the "peanut worm" is a good thing? how so?

would it be ok to siphon off the waste (long things in pic 2) as more and more seems to be building up, during next water change or just leave it be?

i would not worry about the tube worms. the will help filter the water.

i do not worry about the waste from a peanut worm, unless i happen to see some when cleaning the tank. other members of the clean up crew and micro organisms will break it down fairly quick as well. the waste is not so much good as its a good sign a peanut worm is eating. they eat detritus, and help keep the LR clean for you.
