Over my Christmas break I plan to build a water changing station. Unfortunately my water changing station will require about 50' of pipe to get to my tank. I was hoping to get help with two areas.

1) is anyone aware of a retractable hose reel (like an auto mechanic air hose that is reef safe. I know that the Air hose reels that have brass internals and I believe brass isn't good for our tanks. Correct me if I am wrong please.

2) for those that have built their own mixing station, is there anything you wish you would have down differently? I have looked at several photos here on the forums and found some solid plans, but I don't know if they went back and made changes.

Thank you S.L.A.S.H

Are you near the city? You can come look at mine. I setup a litermeter 3 and ran the lines in the floor joist for automatic water changes.

I also looked for a reef safe hose reel when I did mine. I never found one. I just went with gecko toes as a cheap alternative.

Thanks Pife. I will let you know. I am working 7 days a week right now. Are you off any weekdays?

Brs has one in their videos, so I know it can be done. But I am having no luck finding it either. [emoji58]

Ask them about it in the comments or call them and ask. They are really helpful.

I know the video you are talking about. I did email them and asked what reel it was. I think it is pretty expensive and that is why I didn't go with that. I have screen shots of the reel on my old phone I could find tonight if you need me to.

Thank you. I found the video with it. I looked for them online and the closest I have found was this.

I guess I could just buy it and see. Worst case is I will have another hose. My wife would not be happy with me as I am hose rich already. [emoji23]
