Need info-Culturing Phytoplankton

Hi,
I am going to need to reproduce pods and I need to start a phytoplankton culture. I was wondering if anyone has a good recipe or start up plan available? Preferably easy to follow.

Is your second recipe using the miracle grow the easiest and most successful way of doing it? I just want to make sure I get it right. Also,
I feel like such a dummy for asking, but aren't copepods supposed to reproduce naturally in the aquarium? I know they are, but why must we start a copepod culture and feed them phytoplankton?

Yes, Recipe #2 is easier to keep alive.

The pods have to eat. Phytoplankton is their meal, and they will breed more prolifically.

Should I start with DT's and try to make my own culture off theirs? Or do you know a place where I can get a started culture? Sorry so many ?'s. I've never done this before.

Sure, that will work as as starter. Or you can shop on Florida Aqua Farms.
