Mine has settled into a "shaded" area, somewhat between my 2 250Watt halides. It's not in the shade, but in one of the dimmer areas of my tank. It appears to like to anchor itself to rock, but on the sand, not up on the rock. When I received the anemone, it was bleached and blue. Would only eat small peices of raw shrimp. As it recovered, it started to accept squid and silversides as well. I feed on the same schedule as I found for other anemones.
I am far from an anemone expert. I started reading this forum and these pages- http://www.wetwebmedia.com/macrodoreensis.htm - Note the table of contents at the top of that link, and click on any other articles that mention LTA.
They are different in that an LTA needs stronger light than a BTA.
LTA's also prefer sand rather than rock.
Mine was attached to rock up high when I first got it about 5yrs ago, but when I added proper light it went down to sandbed.
It also has a cave area where it can recede from light now and then.
BTA's seem to wander more from what I've read.
Both my LTA and sebae have pretty much been in the same spot since I've had them.
