Hey all,

Aquarium size :72'' x 24'' x 30''. Problem: Lighting, too much blue and shadow

We are opening up a new exhibit and I am having some lighting problems. I decided to go with a DIY LED kit from Rapid LED. I assembled it and it works great. However, I am getting a lot of blue in spots where I do not want it. I have attached a "Sloppy" drawing made from paint to help.

The light strip itself has 8 white light and 4 blue light and I get a nice crisp white light look on one side of the tank (maybe 10-11k??), but then on the other side of the tank which is shaded to resemble a fishing dock i get blue light. The top used to shade the half of the tank has small slits in it to let some light through(again, to resemble a fishing dock). But only blue light penetrates so I get a blue streak. I do not want blue.

Also, the lights are hung about 15inches above the water. On the light or open side light is hitting the brace and causing a black shadow in the tank. See diagram. How do I get rid of that?

Also, I tried moving two lights over the open side. Still having the blue and shadow effect and it is still nice white light on the open side.

If anyone is confused please let me know, I probably confused myself.
