need lots of sand

I personally feel if you wash the quickcrete very, very well to remove the dirt and impurities it is no different than glass. You are always gonna hear about alage issues with ANY substraight, regardless. More to do with the tank husbandry than the substraight I would venture a bet :). " I hate my sand, it causes alage blooms...., Did I mention I over feed, overstock, use tap water and never clean my skimmer..."
I paid something like $19.99 for a small bag of white agg. sand from petsmart for my nano cause I am just partial to the color and its a algae nightmare most days. The cyano is under control now that the RO is going but the green glass is sometimes 2x a day.

already have it in the tank. got it today. im not real worried since its gonna be a fowlr tank. worse comes to worse i take it out and im out 20 bucks and my time. i do love the way the playsand looks in the tank too. very beachy :). gonna rig up an icecap 660 with ge 40w bulbs too. its gonna be an experiment haven!

:blown:

I ordered some sd from the co-op in the 'boro man (couple years ago). Not sure if they can still get it or not.

found a thing on icecaps web page where they show you can get ge daylight bulbs from home depot. it overdrives them to 80w and you get almost the same out put as vho. the best part is the bulbs are 6.50 for a 2 pack. just to make sure my intentions are clear its going on a fowlr tank. my main goal is to get corraline growth out of them
