so i have the opportunity to buy a 100 gallon corner tank, stand and canopy for 300 dollars. i know thats a good deal buy is there any cons to having a corner tank as oppose to a rectangular tank. it also comes with the overflow already drilled and set up

I would guess that you would save space with a corner tank. As in cons I think it might be the 90 degree angle as opposed to 180. I think another pro might be that it might be cheaper to light up.

Before i bought my last tank i had the opportunity to buy a corner 90 gallon with stand and it also had the built in overflow and sump. Price was 250 and it sold the same day it was listed on CList. I would offer him 250 but if it includes live rock or any live stock I think its well worth it. Of course you want to make sure its in good condition and not leaking.

yea a lfs is selling it it use to be a display tank. it has no leaks. stand needs to be painted but other than that no problems. nothing else is included so what do u think of the deal

Rock placement and powerhead placement with amount of flow if as i guess this would be a high tank. Then your limited in type of lighting system. As some can be placed on the tanks rim but many arent able to in a bow front.

i have 400 watt metal halide with reflectors that hang on canopy so lighting should be okay. ive heard its hard to find a sump for corner tanks

A fuge much better. And no, these are easy addons for any tank. Just get the basics down before adding any addtional equipment. Its not needed and worthless if you cant get the basics right.

so far what i have on my 65 gallon that i am changing over will be my 400 watt metal halides, fans, 4 powerheads, livestock, 2 heaters (150watt). things i still need sump, protein skimmer. any suggestions on other things i need and where i can get a good price on a good skimmer
