Hey, my brother looked at a Heteractis Malu at our LFS for me. He doesnt know much about Anemones but he said its possible the oral disc has a really small rip on it, other then that ue said the mouth looked good like it was healthy. I am going to look at it in an hour once i get off work, if the foot does have a small tear I should pass on it correct?

I want to note I asked him if he had seen anything coming out of the part he said might of been ripped and he said nothing was.

False alarm, oral disc looked fine when I picked it up at the LFS. I bought it I will post with a pic soon, I need opinions now on whether or not it is a Heteractis Malu or if it is a Crispa!

Here it is, what is it?

Photo came out really blue... Suppose to be white with blue tips.

Looks like a Heteractis crispa. What are your tank parameters, how old is the system. The anemone shouldn't be white, but tannish brown.

Thanks for the ID, no offense but I just picked it up so none of that is even relevant. But yes it does have a tanish brown tint to it.

In response to your post, I said that the anemone is supposed to be tannish/brown. I agree that it looks tan, and that is how it should look, not white.

Sorry to ask about your tank parameters, true those questions aren't relevant in id'ing your anemone as H. crispa. I assumed that if you weren't sure of the anemone's id you might also be unsure of conditions the anemone needs to thrive. So, my intentions were to be helpful, fyi.
