Ok, so I'm plumbing a system where the drain has to drop down to about 20" and then go back up 6" in order to drain into the sump...does anyone know if the back pressure the drained water will encounter would be a major issue?
I will be draining about 1800 gph through 2" pipe using the herbie method at the overflow...
anyone ever done this?

here is a quick sketch I made...

As long as the tip of the standpipe has a sufficient amount of water above it i think this would work well. As for if anyone else has done this, i am sure its been done...but i have never seen it.

Looks like it will work fine although you will want that output under the water where it enters the sump so you don't introduce air and noise into the system. As long as you have an emergency standpipe you should be fine. I have something very similar to this in my system right now.

Honestly there is no reason to bring it back up and then into the sump. You could just make your bulkhead lower in the sump and let the water flow out there.
