I posted this in the "new to hobby" section and no one could help. I really want to get this rolling and I feel this is the next step I need to take.

I'm about to start a 266 gallon setup. this is my first big tank. it will be a custom order tank so I need to tell the shop where to put the drains and BH at. I only have the bottom and one side to work with.

I have read about the flow rates and I think I understand them pretty well. one thing I am unsure of is if two BH are enough to support the flow for my tank. I figured somewhere between 12500 -13000 gph in the display tank should do it. most of the flow planned will be from a CL run through a OM 4 way which will exit the tank through two BH and return through the top of the tank. the return from the sump will also return this way.

I plan on running a DSB and LR along with a mixed bag of creatures ( very few fish)

all the equipment will be run to a small room behind the stairs, which are opposite the back wall.

pardon my rough sketch, as I'm not AUTO CAD savvy
any input welcomed.

If your going with a custom tank why not place the drains in the bottom pain? They will be easier to hide in one of the back corners.

You can support any pump with just two bulk heads it just depends on what size they are. What pumps are you planning on using?

I would deff. run 1.5in drains in the overflows

There open space below the stairs?
