Need powerhead/flow advice for my custom 150

I just put the down payment on my tank upgrade... A custom 150 (60x24x24) which will have aprox 1500 gph return and im looking for pump ideas. I plan on having a 1-2" sandbed and am looking for about 5000gph in powerheads since it will house sps predominantly and my overflow will be in the back center of the tank. With this new tank i plan on having the rock placement more centered in the tank to allow me room to access all the way around the rockwork including along the back of the tank.

I have koralias on my current 72 bowfront and am gonna need much more power. What are some suggestions for my new setup? Also i dont want detritus to accumulate in dead spots if possible.

I want to go with high end pumps like tunze but want them to be as least noticable as possible in my setup ( i like the clean natural look) so smaller, more powerful pumps preferred.

Thx

Roger, I was considering the 6215 wavebox... Is this a good idea and would I only need the wavebox for flow or am I still gonna need extra pumps?

Another question is if im gonna do a wavebox, should I put my overflow at 1.25" or 1.5" below the top of the tank (tank hasnt been made yet and I agreed to a 1.25" waterline from the top)? Im thinking that more may be better for better flow/wave height. Input please....

You would want additional flow, the wavebox creates a wave, which will lift and suspend debris, it is a directionless, rocking flow. Given the tank dimensions, the Nano Wavebox would work. The wave will be shorter but it it takes up less space and would do the job. For the Nano wavebox I think 1.25" is fine, you will want at least a 3/4" high wave. The Nano Wavebox can probably do 1" max. The full size 6215 could potentially give a 1.5-2" wave.

Roger, Thx man! I picked up the Nano Wavebox and am trying to figure out what pumps I need to compliment the wavebox. I was thinking a pair of 6085s on the opposite ends of the tank for my main flow and maybe a pair of mj1200s (that I have already have)behind the rocks keeping the detritus moving. Ideas?? would 6065s be better? especially with preventing sandstorms?

That is a tough call, honestly I would really suggest the 6105 so you can adjust the flow as needed. Short of that the 6065 is probably the best option.
