Need Skimmer help asap

I am away from home at college and my skimmer on my reef at home was acting funky and the cup overflowed, causing the people taking care of it to unplug it. Its been off for about a week now and i really need them to re-adjust it and get it running again. I tried explaining numerous times over the phone on what to do but its hard to explain these things when not there in person. It is a coralife super skimmer. What would be the best way to explain the set up proccess? What should i say about the water level and such (its configured as a HOB). Thank you all for your help

Did they add any chemicals to the water? This could cause the skimmer to go crazy and overflow. I would wait a day, and turn it back on and lower the lower level in the skimmer body.

also make sure the pump is as high in the water as you can get it.. if its too low they will do that
