i have had this guy about 2 months in my 400 gal ,he eats like a pig ,but i noticed one of his eyes is cloudy ,he is still eating like a nut ,i can not get him out ,that is not a option in a 8 ft tank ,in my reef i let it go, and the tang recovered on its own ,any help here from angel people thanks

Keep water in pristine condition, hopefully it will clear up on its own..You could also try soaking its food in antibiotics

PS Do you have pictures? I am really wanting one of these fish for my 240!
Where did you get him? I have never seen one around here so I am thinking of ordering one from Marinecenter.com
Sorry, I don't mean to hijack your thread
:(

do yourself a favor go with vivid aquariums ,he will have one or get you one ,i just got a beautiful blueface from him talk to dave ,also what antibotics can i use on food ?

your lucky he/she didnt break out with lympho at the same time
keep aggression down, h2o quality up and the fish should be fine

My Mac gets cloudy eye twice a year. Kind of like a cold I guess. I usually step up my water changes to 30% once a week for 2-3 weeks and it clears up. Flukes are one thing but cloudy eyes are a little more potent in my opinion.

freshwater dips do the job good! i have a fat queen in my 240 fowlr doing great eating like a pig. i used to have a 15 inch annularis also eating like a pig and all until i sold him off, i couldnt resist the price that was offered to me...heres

a pik of the queen.

Cloudy eyes is sign of bacteria infection. In a closed-loop aquarium system, it the perfect breeding ground for all sort of pathogens. Cloudy eyes should clear up fairly quick if you do a few water change. IMO, the best way to lower the bacteria population is to install a UV sterilizer.

If you want to use antibiotics with food, make sure you target feed the mixture to the angel, don't let any meds get into the water, it will kill LR's.

You could try mixing food with AquaZole and Focus (it acts like a gel binder). Again, don't let the antibiotics dissolve in your tank water. Take the food out of water if it was not eaten immediately.

dchao, Good suggestions.. I agree,I would first do a series of water changes and see if it helps. I usually use Furan-2, I have added it to food altough I am not sure it is as effective. Check out drfostersandsmith.com, they have several antibiotics..But do try the water changes before added any meds

Thanks for the info on Vivid aquatics;)
