Hey all...

As of recent a bright almost neon green algae has been growing on the back of the tank. I scraped a bunch of it off a few days ago but it seems to be growing back and we are starting to notice a light green tint on our LR in the tank too.

The tank is a 14Biocube.
2 percs
1 Magenta Basselette
8 small hermits
5 tiny brittle stars
5 small feather dusters

We cant get clean up crews where I live and there are no RO/DI units here either. Currently we use water from the fridge filter to put in the tank,

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0
Ph 7.0

Any help would be great. Thanks!

Yes I am sure... when I scrubbed it down with the sponge it came of easy almost like slime, but fiberous. It is algae.

Out of curiosity last week, I tested my well water with a TDS meter--147. I then tested our fridge filtered water--haha, 147. The filter light indicated it was still good, but I have no idea what it thinks it's filtering. The point is, filtered fridge water might not be your best bet. Maybe there's another source where you live that you can use?

Also, your pH is very low. Raising it may help with your algae bloom.
