my wife has been looking at this camera and i was wondering if anyone has it? do you like it are they nice pictures would you rather have a different one for the money? please let me know thanks in advance im looking to get her a christmas present something like this. Nikon D3100 DSLR Camera.

The camera is fine. Any DSLR will give you quality pics. The 3100 being a consumer body is smaller and lighter, which is great for someone with smaller hands. If it's comfortable to her, that's all that matters.

thank you misled im not too sure what else there is a combo package that she was looking at with 2 lenses the camera bag it was like 680 something but i dont know if that is a good price or not for that camera can you guys help me out

You don't say how much she's into photography, but if she's just learning, the "kit" lenses should be fine. She won't be able to get those really nice macros you see on here with them, but until she figures how deep she wants to get into it, she can learn to use the camera with them. Know that I've spent 4 times as much as that just for one lens though. You thought reefing was expensive??? You ain't seen nothing yet!!!!

oh boy thats not good she has always like photography but this will be just her starter kit as she is still learning but she really enjoys it so im thinking she might get into it big time but like always money is an issue

Oh so true!!!

If you want to do a little research on which lenses are your best bet for the money, I'd start by checking here: http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/. They go into a lot of detail you probably won't need, but you also get some general assessments of the lens. There used to be a great resource that gave a really simple price vs. value analysis, but I can't seem to find it.

Anyway, great advice to follow from Misled.
