Hello,
I have decided to change my 5.5 gal from its original setup and drill it to add a sump. I am not very happy with stuffing everything in the tank being as small as it is in the first place, and would like to make things easer for care and maintenance. I plan on drilling 2 returns for 1/2 and am not sure about what size to make the overflow hole or holes? was thinking either one 3/4 return or 2 -1/2 returns. I do however only have the whole saw for the 1/2 size, but if need be can order another for 3/4. Thanks for taking a look and any opinions are welcomed. O and some added pics for everyones interest :) sorry amateur pics and with POS haha

Tank looks nice from what I can tell in the pics.

I'd use a 1" drain and incorporate a gate or ball valve to regulate it. I'd also suggest going with dual returns, probably 1/2"
