Right now we have a 55g fowlr tank. We are in the process of upgrading to a 125g reef tank. We have a Fairy Wrasse, Chalk Basslet, Firefish, and Diamond Goby, 2 cleaner shrimps and various snails and hermits. I am looking to start researching what fish I want to get next, but I don't know where to start. Would love to get some ideas on fish so that I can start my research! Thanks in advance!

I have a Pacific Sail fin, yellow tank, pink spot goby, starry blennie, 2 yellow coris wrasses, a leopard wrasse, pink psudochromis and some green chroims. I want to put in a regal angel fish in the near future.

I like the look of the copperband butterfly, I just think that's something we would need to wait on until we have the 125 fully operational! I'm looking for something that I could get now as well.

I love Flame angels. They are so flashy! They sometimes teeter on the "coral nipper" category but I 've never had a problem, I just added him after more docile fish. I also like Red Hawk Fish, I've heard they sometimes eat shrimp but I have a friend who keeps his with several shrimp w/o incident. I plan to get one soon, they have such funny personalities!

I've looked at cardinalfish before and it seems to be either they are very hardy, or very fickle. Anyone have any other info on these? I've had the 55g set up for almost a year and a half, but I still consider myself a beginner so I don't want anything fickle!

I have some pajama cardinals. They seem hardy, but I guess their look isn't for everyone. They're the easiest cardinals, according to the research I did. My LFS told me that both pajama and banggais are getting harder to find, because stocks in the wild are somewhat depleted and there don't seem to be large-scale captive breeding programs going on.

I like the pajama cardinals as much as the bangaii, but I had heard the opposite about their hardiness. Any thoughts?

I also have a pyjama cardinal in my tank, I have found him to be a hardy fish.

It took around 2 months though for him to stop hiding in the rocks for most of the day though.

Hello- I think it would be good for you to get a fish/reef book that goes into detail about many species of saltwater fish. I highly recommend Robert M. Fenner's "The Conscientious Marine Aquarist". It is well worth the money and I still use it for reference 1+ years later. He talks about the fish, its requirements for captive care, and fish compatibility-plus much more. He also touches on which fish do better/worse in our aquariums.
Hope this helps
